This came up when the court was hearing a PIL by the Awaaz Foundation on rising noise pollution in Mumbai.BMC officials told the development plan is almost in the finalizing stages, which henceforth, leads to the lack of incorporation of noise mapping machineries.According to the data by the Awaaz Foundation, in silent zone areas comprising of schools, hospitals, the noise levels are higher than moderate. The court has asked the civic body to install mapping machines across the city to keep a tab on the rising noise pollution levels. The next hearing is scheduled on December 16.
